Its not bad for a first try. Its quite hard to get good exposure in this condition anyway. It looks okay but IMHO there are things you could improve. Here some tip you could try in future:
1. If you want to shoot facing the sun, pick your main interest subject and try to hide the sun behind it (tree or people for example) so you could get halo effect. You may experiment with flash if the subject get too dark.
2. Try to shoot with the sun on the side. You'll get better exposure and interesting shadows especially in the early morning or late evening.
3. To shoot sunset wait until later when the light not so bright/harsh. You'll always get a balance exposure but sometimes you may need tripod if gets too dark.
4. Try not to put your main subject at the center of the pic. You may want ti put it a little bit left or right. Try google "Rule of Third".
